Montana RASS Training & AI

Mar 4 / Schmidty
I've had some conversation lately about the use of AI-generated videos in my Montana RASS (Responsible Alcohol Sales and Service) courses. A few of you have shared reviews expressing disappointment that the scenarios aren't "real" filmed footage.

I hear you, and I want to pull back the curtain to show you exactly why I chose this path, and why it’s actually the most effective way for me to help you save lives.

The Reality of a One-Person Operation

For years, I’ve had a vision for this training. I didn’t want to give you another "death by PowerPoint" presentation with walls of text and boring bullet points. I wanted to show you real-world tactics like how to handle a difficult refusal, how to spot a fake ID, and how to de-escalate a tense situation at the bar.

But here is the reality: I am a one-person operation. This course wasn't built in a high-end production studio; it was built in my home office. Over the years, I’ve done the legwork. I’ve written the scripts. I’ve reached out to local establishments to ask about filming on-site.  I’ve had dozens of conversations with volunteers, students, and even paid actors to try and coordinate a shoot.

The hurdle was always the same: Resources. Between my limited cameras, lighting, microphones, and a zero dollar budget, the logistical mountain was too high to climb. Most importantly, I, along with everyone else, has a limited amount of time. Despite my best efforts, we were never able to get even one single video shot.

Choosing AI to Save Lives

This is where Artificial Intelligence became a game-changer.

AI isn't about taking anyone's job or replacing human connection. For me, AI was the tool that finally allowed me to bridge the gap between "good intentions" and "effective training."

While the videos are clearly AI-generated, they allow me to demonstrate strategies and tactics that are vital to your success. Without these AI scenarios, the course would be a flat, uninspiring slide deck. Instead, I can now show you visual examples of how to protect:

  1. Lives: By preventing over-service and keeping our roads safe.

  2. Businesses: By helping you stay compliant with Montana law and avoid heavy fines.

  3. Careers: By giving you the communication tools to handle tough shifts without losing your cool or your job.

Empowering Others with Limited Resources

My heart is, and always has been, in public safety and education. I’m not a giant corporation; I’m a guy in a home office who cares deeply about the Montana hospitality industry.

Beyond this course, I actually teach others who are in my exact position, small business owners, non-profits, and educators with limited budgets, how to utilize AI for good. It’s about taking the "little guy" and giving them the "big studio" tools to get an important message across.

My Intentions

I use AI because I refuse to let a lack of a film crew stop me from giving you the best safety training possible. I’d rather provide you with a high-quality, AI-driven visual scenario that teaches you a life-saving skill than a text-only slide that you’ll forget five minutes later.

This course is built on a genuine desire to see every server and seller in Montana succeed. Thank you for being part of this journey and for understanding that while the "actors" might be digital, the mission is 100% real.
